01What's included

From the first letter to the last committee, one file

The same people follow the file from the first letter to the last committee, so the figures in the objection match your books and returns.

Inspection supportWe reconcile your returns and books with the e-invoices and e-receipts the Tax Authority already holds, before the inspector does, and put the requested records in order.
Assessment reviewWe read each adjustment against your records: refused costs, estimated figures, withholding and VAT differences, and any year that may already be time-barred.
Objection to the internal committeeDrafted adjustment by adjustment, each point tied to a document and filed on time, with proof of filing. We represent you before the committee.
Appeal committeePoints still in dispute move here. We prepare the memorandum and represent you. Additional tax is halved by agreement before the appeal committee, so we look early for points that can be agreed.
Settlement requestsFor pending disputes over a listed tax: a request under Law 79/2016, renewed by Law 152/2026, on the forms set by Ministry of Finance Decision 450/2026. Requests close on 31 December 2026.Check your case
Court stageA court challenge must be filed within 30 days of the appeal committee's decision. We prepare the accounting file and the figures for the lawyer who argues the case.

02Process

How we handle your file

  1. 01

    Send us the letter

A photo of the notice and the date it reached you are enough to start. We identify the tax and the years, tell you which stage the file has reached and confirm the deadline for your copy.

Same-day reply in office hours, 09:00–23:00

  2. 02

    Rebuild and reconcile the years

Returns, books, bank statements and the e-invoices and e-receipts in the Tax Authority's system, matched year by year against each adjustment in the notice.

Paced by the deadline on your notice

  3. 03

    Choose the route

Object, agree on some points or request a settlement; often it is a combination. We explain the reasoning in Arabic, English, Italian or Russian, and you see every document before it is filed.

Settlement requests until 31 December 2026

  4. 04

Object and attend the internal committee

The objection answers each adjustment with its evidence. We file it, keep the proof of filing and represent you before the committee.

    Within the statutory deadline

  5. 05

Appeal committee, then court if needed

Points still open go to the appeal committee, where we represent you. A court challenge must be filed within 30 days of its decision.

Court: within 30 days of the decision

A typical sequence, not a promise: committee dates and outcomes depend on the tax office, the committees and your documents.

09FAQ

Egypt tax disputes: questions about inspections and appeals

What happens during a tax inspection in Egypt?

The tax office examines your returns for the selected years against your books and the e-invoices and e-receipts in its system, and issues an assessment if it reaches different figures. Costs without an e-invoice or e-receipt are not recognised. As of October 2026, the Tax Authority can normally assess 5 years back, or 6 where there is evasion.

How does a tax appeal in Egypt work?

You object in writing to the internal committee within the statutory deadline, which we confirm from your copy of the notice. Answer each adjustment separately, with the document that supports it. Points still in dispute go to the appeal committee, whose decision can be challenged in court within 30 days. Keep proof of the date the notice reached you.

Can the additional tax and late interest be reduced?

Yes, as of October 2026. Additional tax, charged at 20% or 40%, is halved by agreement before the appeal committee. Late interest runs at the Central Bank of Egypt rate plus 2% and is capped at 100% of the tax under Law 7/2025, which has no closing date. Neither depends on the settlement window closing on 31 December 2026.

Is tax dispute settlement still open in Egypt?

Yes, until 31 December 2026. Law 152/2026, in force since 29 July 2026, renewed the settlement committees of Law 79/2016, with request forms set by Ministry of Finance Decision 450/2026. It covers profits tax, salaries tax, stamp tax and development fee, sales tax and VAT, built-property tax and entertainment tax. Our free checker shows whether your case may fit.

How many years back can the Egyptian Tax Authority assess?

Normally 5 years, or 6 where there is evasion, as of October 2026. Whether a particular year is already closed depends on the dates in your file, tax by tax and period by period. We check this before drafting anything, because a year that is time-barred changes the whole response to the notice.
